Ivan M. Vizniuk (Mers)

Senior soldier Ivan Viznuk (call sign Mers) was killed on January 13, 2024 near the settlement of Kalinivka in the Donetsk region. While defending the Motherland, he suffered a fatal explosive injury. The warrior was 40 years old. Ivan was born in the village of Mykolaivka, Mykolaiv region. He lived in the village of Vilne in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2002, he graduated from the Kryvyi Rih Vocational School, where he obtained the profession of an electric gas welder. In civilian life, he worked at the enterprise "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih". In September 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. He held the position of senior driver. He was awarded a certificate for personal courage and selfless actions shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. "He was honest, kind, brave, and sensitive. He always came to help, never leaving anyone in trouble. The best and beloved husband," said the wife of the deceased, Olena. Ivan was buried in the village of Vilne in the Dnipropetrovsk region. At home, his wife and sister were waiting for him.
