Ivan S. Fedorenko

30-year-old non-commissioned officer Ivan Fedorenko was killed in action on June 16, 2022, while on a combat mission in the area of the city of Severodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast. The defender received fatal injuries during an artillery attack. Ivan was born in the village of Kordelivka, Vinnytsia Oblast. After finishing school, he stu at the Kozyatyn Interregional Higher Vocational School of Railway Transport. He served his military service in the army. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to fight in the ATO. After his return, he helped his family with household chores and worked part-time. During the full-scale war, Ivan defended Ukraine as part of the 8th Separate Regiment of the Ivan Bohun National Guard of Ukraine. He was a communicator. He took part in the defense of Kyiv Oblast, then moved to Luhansk Oblast with his unit. "Ivan was a very kind and compassionate person, always the first to respond to help. On February 24, after the start of the full-scale invasion, Ivan went to defend the borders of our state without hesitation," said Vladyslav, the deceased warrior's nephew. The defender was buried in his native village. Ivan's mother and younger sister remain.
