Ivan S. Paskalov (Paskal)

Junior Sergeant Ivan Pascalov (call sign Pascal) was killed in action on April 3, 2022, in the battle for Mariupol, Donetsk region. The defender was 24 years old. Ivan was born in Kharkiv city. He graduated from the local special school No. 77. Later, he enrolled in the Kiev Institute of the University named after A. Nobel. He stu at the correspondence department in the specialty named "International Economic Relations." He loved to travel, engaged in sports. Since 2019, he joined the separate special purpose unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov." He fought in Novoluganskoe village on Donetsk. He held the position of a paramedic, mortar gunner. "On March 23, during the last communication with him, the son told that he and his comrades shot down an enemy plane that had bombed them for three days. He was very worried about us, about the family. He also loved animals, and on Azovstal, he tried to save the shepherd dog Renata," said his mother Oksana Kutsenko. At home, Ivan was awaited by his parents and brother. Junior Sergeant Ivan Pascalov was awarded the medal "Participant in Combat Operations" and the Order "For Courage" III degree (posthumously). In Kharkiv Gymnasium No. 77, a memorial plaque was opened in honor of the warrior.
