Ivan V. Karahodin

Soldier Ivan Karagodin was killed in action on March 8, 2022, during the defense of the city of Balakliia in the Kharkiv region. He was 23 years old. Ivan was born in the city of Popasna in Luhansk region. He graduated from local school №21. He was an active participant in school life, taking part in sports and subject Olympiads. In 2020, he obtained a degree in teaching English language and history from the Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages. After graduation, the young man joined the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar". During his service, the fighter received many awards and participated in shooting competitions. "He was a wonderful son, husband, nephew. Always kind and fair. Vaniachka will remain in our memory as a Hero of Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine! Heroes never die," Ivan's aunt Natalia Zemlyana told journalists. Ivan Karagodin was buried in the city of Dnipro. Ivan left behind his parents and wife.
