Ivan V. Kyrkush

Soldier Ivan Kirkush was killed on January 12, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Pobeda in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 25 years old. Ivan was born and lived in Myrhorod, Poltava region. He graduated with honors from the Khomutets Vocational College with a degree in "Technology of Production and Processing of Livestock Products". He worked as a construction worker, engaged in paving. In August 2022, the man was mobilized into the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of an anti-aircraft gunner in the 79th separate airborne assault brigade. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Donetsk region. "He was a reliable comrade, straightforward and honest. He defended his Homeland, despite all the difficulties. A patriot, sensitive, kind, responsible, energetic. We will always remember him like this. War takes the best, but our memory of them will live forever," said the wife of the deceased, Anna. "Ivan was a wonderful person, a good brother, son and friend. Always ready to help. This is a great loss for all of us," added his sister Yana. The defender was buried in the Alley of Heroes in Myrhorod. At home, Ivan was awaited by his parents, wife, daughter, sisters, brother, and other relatives and friends.
