Ivan V. Nazarchuk

Junior Sergeant Ivan Nazarchuk was killed on March 29, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Kamyanka in the Kharkiv region. The defender's life was cut short by enemy artillery fire. Until May 19, 2023, he was considered missing in action. Ivan was born and lived in the village of Polytsi, Rivne region. After finishing school, he obtained the qualifications of a reinforced concrete structures installer and an electric and gas welder at the Makiivka Vocational and Technical School. He served his compulsory military service. He worked at the Polytsi Correctional Colony No. 76. He loved to do repair work and had a hobby of keeping various electronic devices in order and expanding his collection. On February 24, 2022, Ivan turned 46 years old. However, there was no time for celebrations due to the full-scale invasion. The man joined the defense of his native country as part of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of company sergeant major. "He was a hardworking and decent person. He was the shoulder that the whole family leaned on, and just a person with a capital letter," said Ruslana, an acquaintance of the deceased. "The persistent and hardworking Ivan shared his skills and perseverance with those around him," noted the community. The serviceman was buried in his native village. At home, Ivan was awaited by his wife and son.
