Ivan V. Selin (Kok)

Born on January 5, 1987, in the city of Pidhorodne, Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro) district of Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2002, he graduated from the 9th grade of general education school No. 3 in Pidhorodne, Dnipropetrovsk district, and in 2005, he graduated from vocational technical school No. 2 and obtained the profession of assistant locomotive driver. From September 6, 2005, to February 19, 2006, he worked as a loader at the market. From March 14, 2006, to March 17, 2007, he was a security guard at a supermarket. From March 30, 2007, to November 16, 2012, he was a crane operator at the open joint-stock company "INTERPIPE NTZ" (Dnipropetrovsk). From November 28, 2012, to February 12, 2013, he worked as a packer at a confectionery factory (Dnipropetrovsk). From March 3, 2013, to October 14, 2015, he was a crane operator at the metal base "AV Metalurg." From November 11, 2015, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From November 11, 2015, to January 14, 2016, he served as a cadet in the 354th training mechanized regiment of the 169th training center of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1048 (field post V0941), the urban-type settlement of Desna, Kozelets district, Chernihiv region). From January 14 to 18, 2016, he was a gunner, from January 18 to April 1, 2016, he was a machine gunner, from April 1 to October 6, 2016, he was the deputy commander of the combat vehicle - gunner-operator, and from October 6, 2016, he was a gunner-operator of the 93rd separate mechanized Kharkiv brigade of the Operational Command "East" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1302 (field post V2830), the urban-type settlement of Cherkaské, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region). Since 2016, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On March 24, 2017, junior sergeant Selin died as a result of an accident while performing a combat mission near the village of Krymske, Novoaidar district, Luhansk region. He was buried in the cemetery of the city of Pidhorodne, Dnipropetrovsk district. On September 3, 2018, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the city of Pidhorodne, Dnipropetrovsk district, on the facade of the educational and training complex No. 3 (Kashтанова Street, 1), where Ivan Selin studied.
