Ivan V. Udodik (Mazai)

23-year-old soldier Ivan Udodik (call sign Mazai) was killed on September 18, 2023 near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar shelling. Ivan was born in the city of Berezne, Rivne region. He lived in the village of Zirne. He obtained the profession of a landscape designer at a vocational school. He worked in his specialty for a certain time, then was mostly a general worker. He was fond of painting and graphic design. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 117th separate mechanized brigade. He was a combat medic in the reconnaissance company. He received the call sign for always caring for animals. "My brother was a brave man. He went to defend his country and family, leaving his own dreams and desires. He chose to save lives on the battlefield, because life is the most precious thing we have. But, unfortunately, he did not save his own. He was kind-hearted, caring and left only fond memories," said Maria Udodik. The military was buried in the village of Zirne in the Rivne region. Ivan is survived by his parents and sister.
