Ivan V. Zaitsev

Soldier Ivan Zaitsev was killed on November 27, 2022, defending the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region from the occupiers. The warrior was 37 years old. Ivan was born in Kyiv. He grew up and received his education here. He worked in the association of co-owners of an apartment building in one of the capital's districts. Friends and colleagues remember him as sincere, cheerful, kind, and responsible. During the full-scale invasion of the occupiers, Ivan left everything and went to war. More than anything, he wanted to live in a peaceful country, so without hesitation he took up arms and went to the front lines with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "A good classmate, a brave person, a handsome, intelligent, and beautiful guy, a loving son and a faithful friend," said the deceased's classmate Aliona. "My classmate Ivan Zaitsev was killed. He was a sensitive, kind comrade who always supported and came to the aid of everyone who needed it. Vanya gave his life for all of us, for his Motherland. He was one of those titans who held Bakhmut. My soul is torn. This is a huge loss for us, his classmates, and unspeakable grief for his family. May the Kingdom of Heaven be yours, our Hero! Eternal memory. You will forever be in our hearts!" wrote Yulia Marikvas. Ivan was buried at the Forest Cemetery in his native Kyiv. He is survived by his parents.
