Ivan Ya. Hembus

Hembush Ivan Yaroslavovych was born on June 4, 1980, in the village of Verkhni Hai, Drohobych district, Lviv region. After graduating from high school in the village of Verkhni Hai, he began studying at the Stryi Vocational School No. 16, where he received the profession of a crane driver. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, Ivan went to defend Ukraine in the ATO zone. After a year, after demobilization, he returned to his native village. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he volunteered to defend his native land. He served as a rifleman in the 125th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was killed on December 3, 2022, during a mortar shelling near the village of Dibrova, Luhansk region. He was buried in the cemetery in the village of Verkhni Hai, Drohobych district, Lviv region. He is survived by his mother and brother with his family.
