Ivan Yu. Bondarchyk (Mekhanik)

Sergeant Ivan Bondarchyk (call sign Mechanic) was killed on November 1, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. The soldier received fatal injuries during enemy mortar shelling. He was only 20 years old. Ivan was from the village of Preobrazhenska in the Dnipropetrovsk region. After school, he obtained the profession of tractor driver and mechanic at the Verkhniodniprovsk Vocational and Technical School No. 80. He worked in the agricultural sector. He had many plans and dreams that he did not have time to realize. During the full-scale invasion, in June 2023, the young man voluntarily joined the ranks of the defenders and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 78th separate air assault regiment "Hertz". He held the position of driver in the air assault squad. "Vanya was kind, polite, and courageous. A good conversationalist and comrade," said his friend Andriy. The warrior was buried on the Alley of Glory in Verkhniodniprovsk. Ivan is survived by his mother, stepfather, two sisters, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
