Ivan Yu. Svidryk (Diad Vania)

Serviceman Ivan Svidryk (call sign Uncle Vanya) was killed on December 25, 2022, while repelling an enemy assault in the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region. The fighter received a fatal wound while saving a comrade. He was 49 years old. Ivan was born in the village of Koshmaky, Rivne region. He graduated from the Zdolbuniv railway school. He started a family and raised children. He dreamed of a happy future for his family. However, the great war destroyed all his plans. During the full-scale invasion, the man defended Ukraine as part of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of rifleman-medic. "My dad was an extremely patriotic and brave man who was killed saving others. We love and remember him!" - said the deceased's daughter Olga. Since December 25, Ivan has been considered missing. His relatives only knew that he was wounded. However, in January, the fighter's death was confirmed. The defender was buried in his native village. Ivan left behind a wife and four children. A memorial plaque was opened in his honor in the village of Rafalivka.
