Biography
Ivanna Stepanivna Zarashchak was born on July 7, 1984, in the village of Koty, Yavoriv district, Lviv region, where she spent her childhood and most of her life. Ivanna's father left the family early, and her mother, in order to support her only child, spent a lot of time at work. Therefore, the girl was mainly raised by her grandmother. In 1991-1999, she studied at the Kotiv secondary school of I-II degrees. In 1999-2002, she obtained a sewing profession at the Novoyavorivsk Higher Vocational School. She later worked at a garment factory. Later, she worked in various jobs, including at the territorial center for social services for the lonely. In 2020, Ivanna Zarashchak joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to serve as a signaler in the 24th separate mechanized brigade (Yavoriv). After training, she went to perform combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation in the Luhansk region, where she was for 9 months. In February 2022, during a home leave, she was transferred to the 103rd separate brigade of the territorial defense as a senior soldier-signaler. On April 26, 2022, she was sent with the brigade to the combat zone in the Donetsk region to counter the full-scale Russian invasion. She was killed on May 5, 2022, during the shelling of the headquarters of her unit in Siversk, Donetsk region. She was buried in her native village of Koty in the Yavoriv region.Military service
