Karen A. Khachaturian

Soldier Karen Khachaturian (call sign Thor) died on November 30, 2022 during a battle with the occupiers near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. He received fatal shrapnel wounds as a result of a mortar attack. The defender was now forever 35 years old. Karen was born in Baku (Azerbaijan). From childhood, he lived with his family in the village of Onykiieve, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from Onykiieve secondary school. He then went to driving school. After obtaining a driver's license for cars and trucks, he immediately started working. For over 10 years, he was a driver at the agricultural enterprise "Pobeda". He was passionate about fishing and hunting. He devoted a lot of time to his family, adored his children. He always took them on various vacations, his family was his top priority. On the second day of the full-scale invasion, on February 25, 2022, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kostia Hordiienko. He held the position of gunner (DShKM) of the machine gun platoon of the rifle battalion. "He was the best man for me and a wonderful father to his two children: son Daniel and daughter Kira. He respected his relatives and friends. The life of the party, energetic, always ready to help, and just a person with a big heart. He never complained about life, but only always supported and joked. With him, I felt like I was behind a stone wall. Although he was a true Armenian, he gave his life for Ukraine. The hardest thing is that he died on November 30, and the next day, December 1, was his daughter's birthday... How much we miss him..." shared the wife of the fallen warrior. Karen was buried in the village of Onykiieve. At home, his father Aram, wife Oksana, son Daniel and daughter Kira were waiting for him.
