Kostiantyn B. Kopanishyn

Kopanishin Kostiantyn Bohdanovych was born on February 24, 1971 in Kharkiv. He graduated from Lyceum No. 141 in Kharkiv and Kharkiv Machine Tool Technical School. He was a pupil of the Kharkiv Children and Youth Sports School, had the title of Master of Sports in artistic gymnastics. He had his own furniture production workshop. Despite his disability of the 2nd group, he went to defend his homeland during the war in Eastern Ukraine in 2014-2022 and during the large-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. During the Anti-Terrorist Operation, he served in the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Koshovy Otaman Ivan Sirko, holding the position of commander of the crew of the 152mm divisional self-propelled howitzer 2S3 "Akatsiya". In the first days of the large-scale war, he went to serve in the 81st Separate Airmobile Slobozhanshchyna Brigade, holding the position of squad commander. He was killed on March 11, 2022 in the area of the village of Ternі, Donetsk region. He was buried in the Alley of Glory of cemetery No. 18 in Kharkiv.
