- Senior Lieutenant Kostiantyn Bodenchuk was killed on March 8, 2023 near the village of Dubovo-Vasylivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the officer came under artillery fire and received a fatal explosive injury. In April, the soldier would have turned 46 years old. Kostiantyn was born and lived in Kyiv. After school, he studied at the Faculty of Plant Protection of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. In 2014, he took part in the ATO in Donbas. He underwent military training at the Lviv National Academy of Land Forces and became a reserve officer. During the full-scale war, the man fought for his native country in the ranks of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. He commanded a mechanized platoon. He took part in the defense of the Bakhmut direction in the Donetsk region. "Kostiantyn was always brave, courageous, cheerful, balanced, and never complained about anything. He had a big kind heart. He was a support and a pillar for his parents, relatives, and loved ones. People were drawn to him. He always came to help. He had many plans for life, which, unfortunately, he did not have time to realize. He had authority among his comrades-in-arms and friends, loved and knew how to joke. He was a true combat officer. The cream of the nation is about Kostiantyn. Kostiantyn Bodenchuk honorably fulfilled his duty to protect his state and was faithful to the oath, the Ukrainian people, and his native Ukraine until his last breath. Defending and protecting the right to our safe life, he gave his own, not regretting it. Kostiantyn sacrificed himself for the sake of victory in the struggle not only for our freedom, but also for the freedom of all of Europe and all the people of the free world," wrote the deceased's elder sister Ninel. The officer was buried at the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv. Kostiantyn left behind four sisters and nephews.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
