Kostiantyn V. Opanasenko (Chornyi)

Soldier Kostiantyn Opanasenko (call sign Black) was killed on June 18, 2023, in the village of Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhia region. While carrying out a combat mission, he came under mortar fire, sustained shrapnel wounds, and was killed from blood loss. The defender was 27 years old. Kostiantyn was born in the village of Novoivanivka, Zaporizhzhia region. He lived in the settlement of Komyshuvakha. He studied at the Zaporizhzhia Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training "Defender". Later, he enrolled at the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of the Air Force, but did not complete his studies. He first went on conscript service and later signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After completing his service, he was discharged and worked as a driver at a municipal enterprise in Komyshuvakha. In March 2023, Kostiantyn volunteered for the front line. He held the position of a driver in the 110th separate brigade of the territorial defense. "He was a bright person who always smiled and never feared difficulties. The son was responsible, a man of honor, a patriot of his country, the soul of any company," said Inna Volodymyrivna, Kostiantyn's mother. The hero was buried in his native settlement. The defender is survived by his parents, brother, sister, and daughter.
