- Konstantin Vashchenko (call sign Norveg) from "Azovets" was killed on June 11, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defender was 46 years old. Konstantin was born in the village of Stara Kotelnya, Zhytomyr region. He lived in Zhytomyr. He graduated from the Zhytomyr National Agroeconomic University, obtaining the specialty of an agronomist. He loved to spend his free time with friends, children, and family. He enjoyed fishing and cycling. He was passionate about shooting. When the full-scale invasion began, the man was at work in Norway. However, he could not remain on the sidelines, so in November 2022, he returned to Ukraine. He immediately decided that he wanted to serve in the legendary OSSP NGU "Azov," so he prepared physically. He passed the selection and in March 2023 finally got to the desired place of service. He took the position of a grenade launcher. In May, he went with the unit to defend the Zaporizhzhia direction, and a month later he was killed. "My father was a wonderful person. All acquaintances and friends speak only warm words about him. He never left anyone in trouble, he always helped. He was the best dad for me and my brother. He always taught us to help people, to be honest, to support our loved ones. When the full-scale war started, he was abroad, in Norway, so he got the call sign Norveg. He worked under contract in a greenhouse, but he could not live peacefully, knowing what was happening in Ukraine," said Alina Vashchenko. Konstantin was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents, brother, sister, son, and daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
