Kyrylo A. Banul (Mark)

Corporal Kyrylo Banul (call sign Mark) died on November 18, 2023, in the area of the settlement of Kurdyumivka in the Donetsk region. While leaving the battlefield, he heard the voice of a wounded comrade and ran to him. At that time, the enemy carried out a drone attack. The warrior was forever 20 years old. Kyrylo was born in the village of Davydivka, Zhytomyr region. In 2018, he graduated from the local gymnasium. Then he studied for 2 years at the Zhytomyr Regional Lyceum-Boarding School for Gifted Children. In 2020, he entered the Kyiv National Academy of Internal Affairs. He was interested in programming and electronics, and together with his father, they made a woodworking machine. He was engaged in sports and loved to read. In January 2023, the guy transferred to distance learning to defend the country. He worked for two months in the Khoroshiv Police Department. In March, he joined the ranks of the "Safari" assault regiment of the National Police Assault Brigade "Fury". He underwent training and became a combat medic. "He was an extraordinarily sensitive person, a cheerful and witty guy. He had his whole life ahead of him, but he saw his future only in a free and independent state," said the mother of the fallen defender, Olena. The hero was buried in his native village. Kyrylo is survived by his parents, three sisters, and a fiancée.
