- Soldier Kyrylo Sydoryshyn (call sign Sid) was killed on July 19, 2022, near the village of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region. The fighter, along with his comrades, was performing a combat mission when he came under enemy fire. A battle ensued, during which Sid, having warned the group about the enemy's advance, received a fatal injury. In June, he turned 22 years old. Kyrylo was born and lived in Kyiv. He stu at the capital's specialized school with in-depth study of English language No. 264. He grew up in care and love in a large family with an older brother and younger sister. He obtained the profession of a cook-technologist at the Kyiv State College of Tourism and Hotel Business. He worked as a merchandiser in a retail network and planned to open his own business in the future. He was fond of cars. At the age of 20, he went to the army. At the end of 2021, after serving his term, he returned home. During the full-scale invasion, in early March, the guy went to the military commissariat. He told his mother: "I can't take it anymore!" In April, Kyrylo joined the 44th separate rifle battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "He was a very desired, very expected child! Child from God! My little falcon... My universe. Always smiling and cheerful, a bit mischievous, but very kind and good boy. The beloved son, brother, grandson, and nephew. Among friends, he was always the soul of the company, always positive. He knew how to find a common language with everyone, support, and pick up the right words. It's unbearably painful to realize that he is no longer with us... He saw so little, did so little, but did so much for us... He never hid behind other people's backs... He was a true patriot and as a Hero, defending our country. He gave his life for our freedom and victory over the aggressor! The memory of him will forever remain in our hearts and be preserved in our memories," his mother Anna says. "Best friend, reliable comrade, wonderful, cool, cheerful, and open guy!" his friends note. "Courageous, steadfast, and decisive. Always polite and sensitive to those around him," the commander adds. The young fighter was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Lisovyi Cemetery in the capital. At home, Kyrylo's parents, brother, and sister were waiting for him. Posthumously, soldier Kyrylo Sydoryshyn was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
