- Senior Lieutenant Kyrylo Lutsenko was killed on March 24, 2023 in a hospital in Kyiv from wounds received on March 16 while performing a combat mission near Bakhmut in Donetsk region. The officer was 22 years old. Kyrylo was born in Moscow (Russia). In 2004, he moved to the village of Voronivka in the Mykolaiv region with his mother. For 11 years, he professionally practiced karate-do, had a brown belt, and was part of the Mykolaiv region national team. He repeatedly won prizes in competitions. He had dreamed of becoming a military man since childhood, so after finishing school, he entered the Military Academy in Odesa. Kyrylo completed his studies during the full-scale invasion, in March 2022. But he joined the defense of the country from the first days of the war, being a cadet. He fought as part of one of the special operations units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After returning from the war, he planned to go to the Carpathians and propose to his beloved in the company of his loved ones. "He was an extraordinary person. Purposeful, energetic, responsible, with leadership qualities. Sharp mind combined with remarkable strength, endurance and heroism. He was always in a hurry to live and live every minute," said the officer's girlfriend Anastasia. Kyrylo was buried in the village of Voronivka in the Mykolaiv region. The hero left behind his mother, beloved girlfriend, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms. Senior Lieutenant Kyrylo Lutsenko was posthumously awarded a Certificate of Honor and Mourning from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
