- Sergeant Kyrylo Ulman (call sign "German") died on February 15, 2024, from a bullet fired by an enemy sniper near the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was 36 years old. Kyrylo was born in the city of Dnipro. He lived with his family in Kyiv. He was an entrepreneur, the founder of the Ukrainian kombucha production company "Godzyki". With the start of the full-scale war, he defended Ukraine as part of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, serving in the anti-tank battalion. For the successful completion of a combat mission in the battles for Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region, he was awarded the "Golden Cross" badge. In February 2024, the fighter took part in heavy battles near the Avdiivka coke plant. On February 13, his unit had to advance to the plantation near Avdiivka to prevent the enemy's breakthrough to the so-called "road of life" that connected the Ukrainian defense forces with the garrison of the city. Without hesitation, realizing how he should act, Kyrylo organized the defense together with the fighters of the adjacent units. They managed to consolidate at the necessary lines, but the enemy was able to bring up a significant number of reserves. Close combat began. Kyrylo, together with the personnel, accepted them. He personally provided assistance to the wounded and organized their evacuation, saving 4 comrades, and also replaced one of the wounded at the firing position. He worked with the PKM, covering one of the flanks to prevent the enemy's maneuver. Until the last minute, he fired accurately, destroying and suppressing the enemy. "Kyrylo's death became a motivation! It did not scare his fighters, did not cause a desire to hide, did not make them lose faith in the common cause - it encourages them to take up arms, master it and ruthlessly erase the enemy from the face of the earth. And also - to increase people's involvement in the war. This is how heroes go, leaving behind memory, ideas, deeds and inspiration," said his wife. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv. Kyrylo is survived by his wife, sister and parents.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
