- Soldier Leonid Fediyuk (call sign Kubik) was killed in action on July 17, 2022, near the village of Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region. While performing a combat mission, the fighter received fatal injuries during an enemy mortar attack. The defender was 46 years old. Leonid was born and raised in the village of Hannopil, Khmelnytskyi region, in a family of teachers. After school, he entered a technical school, served in the army, and later graduated from the Ukrainian Financial and Economic Institute. He lived with his family in Kyiv. He worked in various fields and found himself in IT technologies. He headed the technical support department in a large computer company. He was engaged in self-development and learned new things. He had golden hands. He loved to experiment, invent and bring his ideas to life. He was passionate about the history of Ukraine. He adored his family - his wife and two daughters, and for them, he was the whole world. In 2018, he underwent military retraining. On the third day of the full-scale war, on February 26, 2022, Leonid joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect those he loved the most - his family and his country. He served in the 23rd separate rifle battalion. He was a radio operator of the platoon and a quadcopter operator. "Young, smart, and active, a man of honor and principles. This is how his friends knew him, and Ukraine will remember him. He was brave, feared no one, and never hid. Leonid went to defend Ukraine from the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Russian barbarians. Until the last moment, it was hard to believe that he had was killed in action... This is a great loss for our community and the state. Because it is people like him who are the future of a strong and democratic Ukraine. There are not enough words to express the grief and pain that has affected not only the family but also friends, relatives, acquaintances, and everyone who knew the brave and courageous patriot, warrior-defender, soldier Leonid Fediyuk," said in the Hannopil community. The warrior was buried at the Berkovets cemetery in Kyiv. Leonid's wife and two daughters were left behind. Posthumously, soldier Leonid Fediyuk was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
