Leonid L. Lonskyi (Iks (Kh))

Soldier Leonid Lonsky (call sign X) was killed on February 11, 2024, during enemy shelling near the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. He was 19 years old. Leonid was from the village of Yahodynamka in the Zhytomyr region. He studied at the Pulyny secondary school. In 2023, he graduated from the Zhytomyr Cooperative College of Business and Law with a degree in Law. His parents raised him with love for his homeland, so the war in the country did not leave the young man indifferent. After completing his studies, he firmly decided to join the defense of his native Ukraine from the occupiers. From March 2023, Leonid underwent military training in volunteer military formations. On September 25, he signed a contract and began military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training in France, Lviv and Cherkasy regions. And then he fought as part of the 3rd separate assault brigade, holding the position of a machine gun crew member in the fire support platoon. "My son was only 19... He defended his native land until his last breath, bleeding, with a machine gun in his hands..." wrote Olena Lonska. The young warrior was buried in the town of Pulyny in the Zhytomyr region. At home, Leonid was awaited by his parents and younger sister.
