Leonid O. Butusin

Butusin Leonid Olegovich was born on April 27, 2001, in Vladivostok (Russia). In 2014, the Butusins family moved from Russia to Ukrainian Prykarpattia. Leonid graduated from the Nadvirna Military Sports Lyceum and the Faculty of Law at Odessa University. In 2020, together with his brother Roman, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and fought in Donetsk region. After the full-scale Russian invasion, they participated in the battles for Chernihiv region, where both were killed on March 9, 2022, during the defense of the village of Lukashivka. He is buried in the Alley of Glory in the city of Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region. For personal courage and heroism displayed in defense of Ukraine's state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and loyalty to the military oath, Butusin Leonid Olegovich was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star.
