Leonid O. Deltsov (Leon)

Leonid Oleksandrovych Deltsev was born on June 29, 1979, in the village of Velykyi Mydsk, Kostiantynivka District, Rivne Oblast. He worked in various fields, mostly in construction. Since 2019, he participated in the Joint Forces Operation as part of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was on the front line. He was killed on March 21, 2022, during an artillery shelling near the city of Popasna in Luhansk Oblast. The burial ceremony for Leonid Deltsev took place on March 27, 2022, in the village of Sofiivka Persha, Verbivska rural territorial community in Dubno. For personal bravery and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Leonid Oleksandrovych Deltsev was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree.
