- 59-year-old soldier Leonid Pavliuk was killed on September 1, 2023, while in Russian captivity. In May 2022, he ended up there from the city of Lyman in the Donetsk region. He was first held in the city of Stary Oskol, then in the Tula region, and later in the Zubovopolansky district of Mordovia. His life was cut short there due to inadequate medical care. Leonid was born in the city of Lutsk. His family immediately moved to the Liubeshiv district, where his father was sent to work as the director of a school in the village of Bykhiv. Leonid grew up and studied there. Later, he obtained a higher education at the Lutsk Pedagogical Institute, graduating from the Faculty of History. In civilian life, he worked as a history teacher at a school in the village of Birky. After getting married, he worked in the villages of the Rozhyshche district. He dedicated almost 30 years to working at the Rozhyshche Lyceum No. 4. In his free time, he loved to travel around Ukraine and adored the Carpathians. He was also involved in beekeeping. "My husband was mostly calm and balanced. He could be asked for help," said Tetiana Pavliuk. With the start of the full-scale invasion, Leonid joined the territorial defense forces. He held the position of driver-radio operator in the 2nd separate rifle battalion. In October 2023, his body was returned to his homeland during an exchange. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of the local cemetery in the city of Rozhyshche. Leonid is survived by his wife and two sons.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
