- Senior Sergeant Lyubomyr Lukach (call sign Lysy) was killed on October 22, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Yegorivka in Donetsk region during an enemy artillery shelling. On October 5, the soldier celebrated his 35th birthday. Lyubomyr was born and lived in the village of Tysmenychany in Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from the local school and then entered the Ivano-Frankivsk Vocational Polytechnic Lyceum. In 2007, he was drafted for military service and served as a platoon deputy commander. In civilian life, he worked in facade construction. He participated in the Revolution of Dignity. With the onset of full-scale war, Lyubomyr took up the defense of Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 68th separate rifle brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. He held the position of squad commander. “It is still impossible to comprehend and accept that Lyubomyr is no longer here. It is very difficult to describe him in just two words. He was everything to me: my life, my heart, my support, my beloved husband, the best dad, and for others — the best son, brother, and friend! He loved his sons above all else, tried to give his children everything he never had himself, and was ready to do anything for them. He achieved everything in life on his own, never expected anything from anyone. He was very sincere and honest, never knew how to 'play a role,' he was always himself. I am immensely proud of him! He will always be in my heart, in my mind, and in my prayers!” — says his wife, Mariana. “He was a brave warrior, loved his children and wife above all in the world. He was very calm, and all the guys respected him. He never got into quarrels. He completed all assigned tasks and always helped and supported,” — his comrades add. The hero was buried in his native village. He is survived by his wife, sons Illia and Makar, parents, sister, and brother Petro. Posthumously, Lyubomyr Lukach was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Ivano-Frankivsk," as well as the award "For Honor and Valor."Memory Platform 'Memorial'
