- 33-year-old Sergeant Magomet Ganiyev (call sign Maga) was killed on September 26, 2023 near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhia region. The warrior received fatal injuries during the evacuation of wounded comrades. Magomet was born in the city of Dolynska, Kirovohrad region, where his family moved from Ingushetia. He was the eldest brother in a family that raised five children. In 2013, he graduated from the Kryvyi Rih Faculty of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" and received a law degree. He was a professional practitioner of pankration. He was the winner of regional, national and international competitions. In 2017, he became the owner of the World Cup in Budapest. In 2021, he headed the Chechen diaspora in Kryvyi Rih. On February 25, 2022, the man took up arms and stood to defend Ukraine from the Russian invaders. Initially, he was in the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces, and after being wounded, he fought as part of the 117th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of senior sergeant of the anti-tank missile systems company. In 2023, he was awarded the distinction "Best Sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine". "Regarding many life situations, I turned to my older brother for advice. Magomet gave very sound and balanced advice. Sometimes I still, after listening to my brother, did it my own way, which I later regretted. Because if I had done as Magomet advised, I would not have made a mistake. But the understanding of this came later. He helped many who turned to him - he never brushed them off, saying he never dealt with other people's problems. If he was able to help - the person could always count on him," said the defender's younger brother Ruslan. "Magomet was constantly reassuring me that we would all live exactly as long as the Lord had allotted us. And there's no need to worry that he might die, because he won't live a second more or a second less than what's ordained by fate and the Almighty," his wife Alina said. Magomet was buried in the Muslim cemetery in Kyiv. The defender left behind a wife, two daughters and a large family.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
