- Main Sergeant Maksym Chayun died on November 1, 2023, near the city of Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. He received fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. The defender was forever 31 years old. Maksym was born in the village of Torhovytsia, Kirovohrad region. After graduating from Skvyra School No. 4, he obtained the profession of a car mechanic at the Higher Vocational School No. 29. After his studies, he served his conscription. He got married, and later the couple had a son named Nazar. During the full-scale invasion, on August 12, 2022, Maksym was mobilized into the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He served in the 9th platoon of the mechanized company of the 3rd Mechanized Battalion. "His sacrifice and self-sacrifice deserve great gratitude and eternal recognition, and his courage and bravery deserve respect and memory. My son was an example of true heroes who are always ready to protect others, even at the cost of their own lives. He gave it up, having so many plans and unfulfilled dreams, for us, for peace and a free Ukraine. Maksym was a kind, sensitive young man, a good loving husband, a good dad to his 6-year-old son Nazarchyk, and a caring son," said the defender's mother, Oksana Mykolaivna. Maksym was buried in the Alley of Heroes in the city of Skvyra, Kyiv region. The defender is survived by his mother, two brothers, wife, and son Nazar.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
