- Senior Seaman Maksym Hryb (call sign Corporal) was killed on July 6, 2023 while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region. He sustained a fatal shrapnel wound to the head as a result of enemy shelling. On September 29, the warrior would have turned 23 years old. Maksym was born in the village of Krasne, Kherson region. He graduated from the local school. He served his conscription in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. Eventually, he decided to connect his life with the army and signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man served in the 140th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From the first days of the invasion, together with his comrades-in-arms, he carried out complex combat missions in various hot areas of the front. "Maksymko is the brightest and most beautiful person I knew. He always helped everyone: both the guys on the battlefield and in civilian life, he never left anyone in trouble. No one can say anything bad about him, because Maksym left only good memories of himself. He didn't have time to do a lot in his life, but he managed to become a loyal friend, a good brother and son, a loving husband, because it's hard to call him a guy," said the fallen defender's fiancée, Kristina Stelmakh. The marine was buried in the village of Snovychi in the Lviv region. Maksym is survived by his parents, three brothers, fiancée, other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
