- 26-year-old junior sergeant Maksym Koshelnik (call sign Greek) was killed on February 25, 2022 on the Antonivskyi Bridge in Kherson. When the Ukrainian military were moving in a vehicle from the left bank to the right, they came under enemy fire. The soldier received a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Maksym was born and lived in Haisyn, Vinnytsia region. He obtained the profession of a security guard at the Vinnytsia Lyceum. In peacetime, he worked in his specialty. However, he aspired to become a defender, so in 2019 he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He was the commander of a sniper squad. Maksym met the full-scale invasion together with his comrades-in-arms. From the very first day, they continued to defend Ukraine from the occupiers and courageously carried out combat missions. "The son was very positive, loved life, had a lot of friends. Always friendly, cheerful, as they say about him - the soul of the company. Where Maksym was, there was always pleasure, laughter and a good mood," said the mother of the fallen Maia. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory in his hometown. At home, Maksym was awaited by his mother, brother, wife and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
