Maksym H. Kiiashko (Buriachok)

Soldier Maksym Kiiashko (call sign Buriachok) was killed on January 25, 2024 near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. While performing his official duties, he suffered a fatal explosive injury as a result of enemy shelling. The warrior was 38 years old. Maksym was from the city of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the local Automotive College and obtained the profession of a welder-roofer. He worked at LLC "Avanhard Promstroy". He adored cars, motorcycles and everything related to them. The man was called up for military service to the Armed Forces of Ukraine on July 15, 2023. He joined the ranks of the 17th separate Kryvyi Rih tank brigade named after Kostiantyn Pestushko. He held the position of mechanic-driver. "My stepfather was a very good person, he loved his children and wife, always helped neighbors and friends. He had golden hands. He gave his life for the sake of his children and the Motherland. He was the best person I knew," said Veronika Chekh. Maksym was buried at the Central Cemetery in his hometown. At home, the defender was awaited by his mother, wife and three children. He was posthumously awarded the badge "For Merit to the City" of the III degree.
