Maksym I. Shurubura (Dubok)

Serviceman Maksym Shurubura (call sign Dubok) was killed on May 12, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Vovchansk area of the Kharkiv region. The warrior was 32 years old. Maksym was born and raised in the village of Sulske, Sumy region. He studied at the Verkhnosulska school. He then graduated from the Sumy Higher Vocational School of Construction and Automotive Engineering, where he obtained the qualifications of a stonemason, installer, and electric welder. He tried his hand at various professions: he worked at a foundry, went to earn money, and later became a security guard at one of the enterprises in Sumy. When the full-scale war began, the man joined the local territorial defense and took part in the defense of the Sumy region. In the summer, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to the front line. "Maksym was a very good guy. Eternal memory to the hero of Ukraine," wrote his comrade Vadym. "Maksymka, my friend, we will never forget you. You will always be in our hearts! Eternal memory to you, my friend, and a deep bow to you!" wrote Olena Petrivna. "May the memory of this brave defender live in our hearts forever. His sacrifice will never be forgotten," the community noted. The defender was buried in his native village. Maksym is survived by his father, two sisters, and a daughter.
