- Soldier Maksym Bits (call sign Mak) was killed on September 11, 2022, defending Ukraine from the occupiers, in the village of Bilohirivka, Luhansk region. A hostile bullet hit him in the heart. In August, the defender turned 37 years old. Maksym was born in the village of Nemanka, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the Odesa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. He settled in Vinnytsia. He worked as a logistics specialist at a local enterprise. The last year he was a disinfector at the "Spetsspektr" company. In his free time, he loved fishing, even taught his little daughter this craft. On the second day of the full-scale war, Maksym was mobilized into the ranks of the 8th Operational Regiment named after Ivan Bohun of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a sniper. He took part in the defense of the Kyiv region. Then his unit went east. "Maksym was a very kind and sensitive person. The best father for his little daughter and the most beloved husband. A loving son and brother. We planned to buy a small country house and dig our own pond. He also really wanted to go on vacation abroad. We made passports, but the damned war did not allow us to carry out this plan," said the deceased's wife. "Maks, you are our Hero. How did this happen? In response to my question in the 11-A class group in May 2022: "Maks, you are at war, how can we help?", he only wrote: "Buy me a ticket home, I'm very tired of sleeping in dugouts and trenches." Our dear one! So kind! He was always so sensitive and ready to help! We called him our Vasyunia. Such a tragedy, such pain," wrote classmate Kostiantyn Stanislavskyi. The serviceman was buried in the Alley of Glory of the New Cemetery in Sabariv, Vinnytsia region. Maksym is survived by his parents, brother Mykola, wife Inna and daughter Sofiia.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
