- Senior soldier Maksym Kostiuchenko was killed on July 7, 2022 while performing a combat mission near the village of Dolyna in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 30 years old. He was a fighter of the 2nd Special Purpose Battalion "Donbas". "My close friend, father and son Maksym Kostiuchenko was killed. He was killed for each of us in the horrific war started by the cursed people, cursed by the whole planet! I still don't believe it and probably never will, and I'm still waiting for a phone call: 'I'm alive.' I express my condolences to the family of the fallen Hero," wrote his friend Inna Taras. "His relatives, friends and even the sky itself mourned him. The community residents saw the hero off on his last journey, kneeling before his devotion to the Motherland and military duty. Maksym Kostiuchenko's two children lost their father. The community lost another of its heroes. The Ukrainian army and Ukraine lost a military professional who dedicated his entire conscious life to serving the Motherland," the Boyarka community said. The defender was buried in his native Boyarka. Maksym is survived by his parents, two children, relatives and friends.
