Maksym M. Maiorov

Senior soldier Maksym Mayorov was killed on August 31, 2022 near the village of Pavlivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the warrior received fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar shelling. The defender was 42 years old. Maksym was born in the city of Melitopol, Zaporizhia region. He lived in the village of Mokra Kalyhirka, Cherkasy region. He graduated from the Mokrokalyhirsky Professional Agrarian Lyceum. He worked as a builder for a long time. He loved to read. He knew the history of Ukraine well. During the full-scale war, the man fought for his native state in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the gunner of a machine gun platoon of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. "Max was cheerful, had many friends. He was a jack of all trades: he could build a wall, lay tiles, and install a window. He knew how to cook deliciously, his borscht was the best. Not every housewife could cook such... When he went out on his last combat mission, I asked him: "Why you? You just returned from zero two days ago." And he said to me: "Nadya, there are young boys, 20 years old, they need to live." He believed he would return alive, and now he is an Angel in heaven," the warrior's wife Nadiya said. The defender was buried in the village of Mokra Kalyhirka, Cherkasy region. Maksym is survived by a brother, wife and two daughters.
