Maksym O. Barannik (Robin)

32-year-old senior soldier Maxim Barannik (call sign Robin) was killed on March 18, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the city of Avdiivka in Donetsk region. The fighter received fatal injuries as a result of enemy shelling from "Grads". Maxim was born and lived in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region. After school, he stu at the industrial technical school where he obtained the profession of an auto mechanic. He loved extreme sports, was a member of the "Extrem Steam Dentures" federation and an instructor for bridge jumps. In 2014, he participated in the ATO in Donbas. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought against the occupiers in the ranks of the airborne assault troops. He served in the 25th Separate Airborne Sich Battalion. He was a driver for the medical service. He helped save and evacuate the wounded. "We lived together as a family for 7 years. He was a very cheerful, intelligent, loving, and purposeful man and father. He was always for justice," said the beloved of the deceased, Natalia. Maxim was buried in his hometown. He is survived by his civil wife and daughter. Posthumously, the defender was awarded the Order of "Courage" III degree.
