He obtained the profession of a cook at vocational school No. 14 in the settlement of Voronovytsia, but did not work in this profession. After getting married, he moved to the city of Bucha in the Kyiv region. In civilian life, he worked as a security guard. In his free time, he loved fishing, making wooden products, and cooking for his family. In 2015-2018, he defended his homeland and served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the ATO/JFO in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in particular, he fought for Popasna, Shchastia, and the Svitlodarsk arc. When the full-scale war began, Maksym returned to the ranks without hesitation. He fought in the ranks of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi.
