Maksym O. Petrenko

Soldier Maksym Petrenko was killed on November 17, 2022, during an enemy artillery attack on the positions of Ukrainian defenders near the village of Yakovlivka in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 29 years old. Maksym was born in the village of Novoihorivka, Kirovohrad region. He received his education and lived in his native village. Later, he began to work abroad. He was passionate about cars. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Maksym defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 109th battalion of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a service member. "My beloved, my support, my soul, my best friend. He was a very positive person, always with a smile on his face. He always found a common language with people. He was very stubborn. He never sat still. He loved to be behind the wheel. Without hesitation, he went to protect his loved ones. Now he watches over us from heaven. There are no and will be no such people as him," said the wife of the fallen Yulia. "Friend, eternal and blessed memory! Heroes never die," wrote Viktoria Shapovalova. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Maksym was awaited by his parents, wife, brothers, and sister.
