Biography
Maksym Oleksandrovych Rymskyi was born in 1995 in the village of Olhopil, Chechelnik district, Vinnytsia region. After graduating from secondary school, he studied at the Bershad Medical College and obtained the qualification of paramedic. In 2016, he signed a contract for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 9th Motorized Infantry Battalion "Vinnytsia Scythians" of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk. For a long time, he was a combat medic, and over time he was promoted to the rank of senior sergeant of the platoon. On December 7, 2019, he received a personalized watch from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During the full-scale war in the spring of 2022, the President of Ukraine awarded Maksym Rymskyi the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine". In 2022, Maksym received a higher education in the specialty "Pharmacy". He died on December 9, 2022, in a battle near the village of Nevelske, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region. The enemy used a new tactic to detect the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: they sent three fighters who pretended to be prisoners of war. To avoid revealing the positions of the unit, Maksym went out from a different side. As soon as Maksym approached the "prisoners of war", the Russian troops immediately began a mortar attack. A mine exploded near Maksym, killing him instantly. Three occupiers also died under their own mines. Thanks to the fact that Maksym did not go out from his own positions, it was possible to save his comrades-in-arms: only a few were wounded. The fallen was buried in his native village. On December 15, 2022, Maksym Rymskyi was posthumously awarded the rank of "Chief Sergeant". For personal courage and heroism shown in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, Maksym Oleksandrovych Rymskyi was awarded the title of "Hero of Ukraine" with the award of the Order of the "Golden Star" (posthumously).Burial place
