Maksym O. Sahaidak (Hidrohraf)

Soldier Maksym Sahaidak (call sign Hydrographer) was killed on May 8, 2022, defending Mariupol. His life was cut short as a result of a Russian air strike on the Azovstal plant. The warrior was forever 29 years old. Maksym was born and lived in Mariupol, Donetsk region. In 2014, he graduated from the Azov Maritime Institute, and in 2017 from the Odesa Ecological University. The following year, he entered the postgraduate program at the Odesa State Ecological University, but did not have time to complete his studies, as he went to military service. He worked as a hydrographer at the Mariupol branch of the State Institution "Mykolaiv District of the State Hydrography". He was passionate about photography and had a talent for it. In 2018, the man decided to sign a contract for military service. He became a warrior of the separate special purpose unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov". He held the position of driver of the vehicle platoon for the supply of material and technical means of the material and technical support company. From February 24, 2022, together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended his native city from the Russian invaders. Posthumously, the "Azov" soldier was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
