- 18-year-old soldier Maksym Vasylyshyn (call sign Pajero) was killed in action on June 18, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Vyrnopillia, Kharkiv region. The defender received a fatal mine-explosive injury. Maksym was born in the city of Novy Rozdil, Lviv region. He finished 9th grade at Novorozdil school No. 5, then stu at the Lviv Military Lyceum named after the Heroes of Kruty. He loved to travel and take pictures. He dreamed of his own business. He stu at the 1st course of the Faculty of International Economic Relations and Information Technologies of the Lviv University of Trade and Economics. When the full-scale war began, student Maksym Vasylyshyn joined the self-defense of Lviv on the first day. On February 27, as part of the separate special purpose regiment "Azov", he went to Kiev to defend the capital. After the liberation of Kyiv region, he moved to the 49th separate rifle battalion "Carpathian Sich" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was an operator of the department of unmanned aerial complexes of the reconnaissance platoon of the reconnaissance company. "Maksym always had many ideas and plans, he had a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit and purposefulness, and was not afraid to try something new. During his studies at the academy, he always carried a book about entrepreneurship with him. At the age of 17, Maksym already had several of his own businesses and dreamed of creating a real business empire. In his essays, Maksym often drew inspiration from other people and sought to lead by his own example. "I want to make it clear to all Ukrainians that we can do everything if we strive for it. I want to make it so that Ukrainians are looked up to," Maksym said, - this is how the Ukrainian Leadership Academy described its former student.
