- Maxim Serhiyovych Biletsky was born on July 19, 2000, in Novovolynsk, Volyn region. In 2021, he graduated from the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky. Since 2017, Lieutenant Maxim Biletsky served in the border agency, where he proved himself to be a responsible and diligent serviceman. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Maxim Biletsky diligently performed his military duty on the northwestern border of the state. From September 2022, he served in the 1st border detachment and by December 2022, as part of the rapid response border command No. 1, he carried out combat missions in the Donetsk region. In particular, Maxim Biletsky participated in activities to ensure national security and defense, as well as to repel and deter armed aggression from the Russian Federation. At that time, the unit in which Maxim served was holding the defense in the city of Soledar in the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region, where the enemy continuously shelled them with artillery and mortars and fired from tanks and small arms. From December 25, 2022, the border guard was performing combat missions at the fire position "Zeleny" in the area of the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region, where he established interaction among the personnel of the unit at a high level, which allowed the fighters to bravely hold their positions and selflessly eliminate the occupiers with small arms. On January 1, 2023, the enemy made another attempt to advance on the fire position "Zeleny." Due to a massive shelling, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had to withdraw from their positions, and the enemy was able to infiltrate the rear of the fire position "Zeleny," where the border guards were holding the defense. During a fierce battle against overwhelming enemy forces, one of the shells struck Lieutenant Maxim Biletsky directly — the serviceman died instantly. For personal courage and selfless actions displayed in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Lieutenant Maxim Serhiyovych Biletsky was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
