Maksym S. Filozof (Filosof)

Sergeant Maxym Filosof (call sign Philosopher) was killed on April 10, 2023 near the village of Hryhorivka in the Donetsk region. He received fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. The defender was 25 years old. Maxym was born in the village of Lyubopil, Odesa region. He graduated from 11 grades of the local school. He dreamed of becoming a police officer, but in 2016 he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to the ATO. He entered a military academy, but did not complete his studies. In 2019, he left the army. In civilian life, he had his own business. He was passionate about playing the guitar. On the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man took up arms again and returned to the front. He served in the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He held the position of deputy commander of the combat vehicle, gunner-operator. "He had a lot of friends and acquaintances. People always made contact with him. Childhood friends told me that he wrote songs and sang very well, and even taught some to play. He cooked very deliciously. When we started living together, he also taught me. He always had the goal of having his own business and a good income," said the wife of the fallen soldier. The warrior was buried in his native village. Maxym is survived by his wife Alina, daughter Adriana, family, friends and comrades-in-arms.
