Maksym S. Korniichuk (Maks)

Soldier Maxim Korniychuk was killed in action on April 20, 2022, in a battle with occupiers near the town of Privillia in Luhansk region. The fighter did not live to see his 19th birthday by 4 days. Maxim was born in the village of Velyki Nizhirtsi, Zhytomyr region. He graduated from the comprehensive school of I-III levels No. 6 named after Zhytnychenko in Berdychiv. Then he stu at the Zhytomyr Agricultural College. He dreamed of becoming a soldier, but due to his health, he was not even subject to conscription. The boy did not give up. After a complex operation, he finally joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served under contract in the 26th Artillery Brigade named after General-Khorunzhyi Roman Dashkevych. He was a mechanic-driver and electrician of a radar station. He dreamed of continuing his education to become an officer. "Maxim was a good, sincere, loving brother and son in life. He was our support in the family. For his comrades, he will remain a good and faithful friend. He dreamed of starting his own business, opening a coffee shop for me. But unfortunately, he did not have time. We miss him very much. I live for his dream and promise to fulfill it. He is an angel in heaven, and he helps me," said the mother of the fallen warrior, Lilya. The young serviceman was buried in his native village. Maxim left behind his parents, brother, sister, relatives, and loved ones. Posthumously, soldier Maxim Korniychuk was awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree.
