- 31-year-old border guard Maksym Shishkin (call sign Skif) died on September 2, 2023 in the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after I. Mechnikov. On August 29, he was wounded in the temporal region while performing a combat mission near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. Doctors fought for his life until the end, but the warrior's heart could not withstand it. Maksym was born in the village of Voronovytsia, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the Vinnytsia Medical College named after D.K. Zabolotny. In civilian life, he was a private entrepreneur. He played football, played for the "Temp" team (Vinnytsia), and then for the "Olimpik" team (Voronovytsia). He also loved fishing. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man went to the military enlistment office. On March 15, 2022, he joined the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. At first, he served in the 24th border detachment, where he was a combat medic. He defended the borders of the Chernihiv region and the Avdiivka direction of the Donetsk region. He was awarded the medal "For Conscientious Service". In the winter of 2023, Maksym underwent training and was transferred to the 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment "Steel Border". As part of his unit, he fought in the eastern direction. "I am proud of my beloved husband Maksym, because he was a loving and caring father of two sons, the only son and the pride of his parents. He saved hundreds of lives of our defenders," said the wife of the fallen. The warrior was buried in his native village. Maksym is survived by his parents Oksana and Serhiy, his wife Natalia, and sons Tymofiy and Vladyslav. Posthumously, Sergeant Maksym Shishkin was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
