- 38-year-old soldier Maksym Basystyi (call sign Subaru) was killed on July 5, 2023 in battle for the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of a direct hit by an enemy anti-tank guided missile. Maksym was born in the city of Kamyanka-Buzka, Lviv region. He lived in the village of Chotyrboki, Khmilnytskyi region. He obtained incomplete higher technical education at the Rivne National University of Water Management and Nature Management. He worked as a builder, mechanic, and electrician. He was interested in numismatics. He loved working with technology and cars, especially motorcycles. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend his native country and his loved ones. He served in the 3rd separate assault brigade. He was a driver of the grenade launcher section of the fire support platoon. During his service, he was awarded the insignia of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross" and "Cross of the Brave", and posthumously - the Order of Courage of the III degree. "Maksym was caring and at the same time courageous, he was ready to sacrifice himself for the principles of defending justice. He was cheerful, sociable and sincere. At the front, he quickly found brothers in spirit, had good relations with his comrades-in-arms, and was always ready to support and cover. Comrades-in-arms still remember how devoted and desperate he was. Maksym is forever in the hearts of his loved ones! Forever in the ranks! A very dear person, infinitely beloved..." - wrote his wife Yulia. The warrior was buried in the village of Chotyrboki, Khmilnytskyi region. Maksym is survived by his mother, wife, son, brother, other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
