Maksym V. Braha (Ybrahim)

Paratrooper Maksym Braga (call sign Ibrahim) died on April 8, 2022, from injuries sustained during shelling in the area of Kramatorsk. The defender was 21 years old. Maksym was born in the village of Staryi Saltiv in the Kharkiv region. After school, he obtained a profession as an electric gas welder at the Stara Saltiv Professional Agricultural Lyceum. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing. Since October 2019, he had been serving under contract in the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade. He wanted to build a military career in the future. With the onset of the full-scale invasion, Maksym, along with his comrades, defended Ukraine from Russian occupiers at the front. "When he joined the army, he really wanted to transfer to another unit closer to home after his service and become a military man. But it didn't work out — he was killed," said his sister Yana. The defender was buried at the Krasnopil Cemetery in Dnipro. Maksym is survived by his father, sister, and two brothers.
