- Defender Maksym Holub was killed on December 10, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of Bilohirivka, Donetsk region. The soldier was 27 years old. Maksym was born in Starokostiantyniv, Khmilnytskyi region. He graduated from local school No. 4. He obtained the profession of an electrician at the local vocational school. He worked on construction sites and had his own team. In 2016, he served in the National Guard of Ukraine. Then he returned home. He dreamed of traveling, buying a car and an apartment. Before the war, he planned to go to Poland. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Maksym joined the ranks of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "He was always cheerful, had many dreams and desires. He said he would come home when the war was over. He really wanted to go to the sea because he was constantly working and didn't have time for it, and then the war started. He was kind, generous, and sensitive. He loved life and enjoyed it. He went to war because he said it was his duty," said the sister of the deceased, Anzhela. "It is very painful to realize that a young life has been cut short in the prime of its strength. How much good and light could have been in his future, but he gave his life defending the Motherland and all of us. But death cannot destroy what Maksym left behind - good deeds and a bright memory. It is thanks to people like Maksym that we today have the opportunity to live peacefully under the blue sky and speak our native language. He will forever remain with us," said Starokostiantyniv Secondary School No. 4. The serviceman was buried in his hometown. Maksym is survived by his parents, sister, and nieces.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
